The Fieldstone Feed

Phyllis Parish is 95 years old and goes by Betty. She moved in on November 1st, and we’re thrilled she is here. Betty grew up in LaGrande, Oregon. She was raised on a dairy farm, and she loved to fish in the nearby creek. She was an outdoor girl all her childhood and loved to be surrounded by nature.

Celebrating her one-year anniversary at Fieldstone Memory Care Issaquah, Dorothy is easy to pick out as she is always sporting an outfit in her favorite color—purple! Dorothy’s early years were spent on the family cotton farm deep in the heart of Texas, where she and her two siblings would help out with whatever needed to be done. When she was around 10, the family moved to nearby Abilene, where she graduated high school as a two-time State Doubles Tennis Champion.

Albert Ku is of Chinese heritage and has lived in Michigan for most of his life until retiring to Portland to be with his children and grandchildren. Albert and his wife, Jane, have been married for over 50 years. He has two daughters, Natalie and Elizabeth. His grandchildren are Isadora (15), Giacomo (12), and Hugo (8).

Terry and Lucille were two of the first residents here at Wenatchee Memory Care, joining us in December 2018. After 37 years together, they still enjoy spending time with each other.

Vera was one of the first residents to secure her spot here before we opened, and she was our very first resident to move in. And boy, are we glad she did! Vera has already added so much joy and love to our community. She has made some new friends and reunited with some old from her previous community. You can usually find her walking the halls or in the cafe spreading laughs and smiles with her good friend Barbara. We all look forward to seeing Vera every single day.

When you sit down and start talking with Bill, it feels like an overdue visit with a good friend. With his Southern drawl, playful smile, and colorful storytelling, it’s easy to see why his fellow residents and Fieldstone team members love having him around.

At Fieldstone, we love being able to learn about and celebrate the lives of our residents, and we are currently celebrating Bill and Paula’s 53^rd Wedding Anniversary!

Ida is one of our newest residents living here at Fieldstone Memory Care Issaquah! She was born in Widnau, Switzerland and was one of 8 children. Out of her seven siblings, Ida, her sister Rosee (whom she claims is the family favorite) and Paulie are the only ones remaining. She and all of her siblings were raised on a dairy farm.
